Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking an Estimator for commercial glazing and curtain wall in Cleveland, OH. You will prepare detailed cost estimates for complex facade systems, review drawings, and develop competitive bids to win projects.

The role requires strong glazing knowledge, experience with quantity take-offs, and coordination with vendors and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project scope and specifications.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience within commercial glazing, curtain wall, facade, or building envelope.
• Experience estimating custom glazing projects preferred.
• Strong understanding of curtain wall, storefront, window systems, and architectural glass.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience performing quantity take-offs and developing detailed cost estimates.
• Knowledge of fabrication, installation methods, and glazing industry standards.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and estimating software.

• Evaluate competing supplier proposals to maximize project profitability.
• Prepare comprehensive bid packages and client proposals.
• Develop scope letters, exclusions, clarifications, and qualifications.
• Coordinate bid submissions and ensure deadlines are met.
• Participate in bid reviews and turnover meetings with operations teams.
• Interpret architectural, structural, and facade drawings.

Position Summary

The Estimator will play a critical role in securing new business by preparing detailed cost estimates and proposals for commercial glazing and facade projects. This individual will review drawings and specifications, perform quantity take-offs, solicit vendor pricing, and develop competitive bids for custom curtain wall, storefront, architectural glass, and related building envelope systems.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of glazing systems and a thorough understanding of commercial construction estimating practices.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Preconstruction

• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial glazing, curtain wall, storefront, window wall, and specialty facade projects.


• Review architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents.


• Perform accurate quantity take-offs and material calculations.


• Develop conceptual, budgetary, and hard bid estimates.

Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination
