Job summary

Mr. Handyman in Racine County is seeking a Part-Time Home Improvement Estimator / Field Technician to join our team.

You will evaluate inquiries, determine scope, and provide accurate material and labor estimates while delivering an exceptional customer experience. The role blends estimating with practical field work; you will conduct site surveys, perform hands-on maintenance as needed, and guide clients through requirements to ensure satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 10+ years paid professional experience in trades/handyman work (carpentry, drywall, plumbing, and electrical).
• Strong written and verbal communication with a client-first mindset.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work overhead or at heights for extended periods if needed.
• Must reside within the local service area and hold a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Project Estimating (Residential & Commercial): evaluate inquiry details and provide accurate scopes, materials and labor estimates.
• Site Surveys: schedule and perform in-person inspections for complex projects before finalizing scope.
• Field Maintenance & Repairs: perform hands-on maintenance and repair tasks as needed for small to medium projects.
• Client Consultation: guide clients through requirements, manage cost and timeline expectations.
• Pipeline Management: track, follow up on, and close outstanding estimates to keep workflow steady.
