Job summary

DH Pace Company, Inc. in Olathe, KS seeks an Estimator to join our team. With minimal supervision, the Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, timely, and competitive bids for Commercial Industrial Door and Loading Dock Systems.

They will work to support our sales staff, resulting in profitable sales and positive customer relationships. Knowledge and/or experience in the construction or building materials industry is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of commercial door/dock experience or two years of new construction commercial estimating experience or building material industry experience.
• Experience with Blueprints/Plans and Specs desired.
• Must have strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills, and excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Possess strong language, written and mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly develop or possess advanced level skills at using DH Pace estimating processes and procedures and utilizing DH Pace estimating software as well as other business software programs (Excel, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, BAAN, SAM, etc.).
• Develop knowledge of door and dock related products, understanding functionality, features, usage options and pricing variance.
• Develop understanding of Core Product Lines, Vendors, Labor Standards.
• Educate sales team on product options and assist customers in product selection to ensure sale and best project outcome.
• Generate accurate Project Cost Estimates and Bids.
• Estimate advanced and complex projects of limited size, writing all proposals clearly and concisely for review by Manager prior to customer review.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.
