Job summary

CBX Solutions LLC is seeking an Estimator to interpret project plans, perform cost takeoffs, and price door and hardware packages for commercial construction projects. You will collaborate with contractors and architects to ensure competitive bidding and accurate labor-cost interpretation.

The role requires 3–5 years in construction or building materials, strong mathematical skills, and proficiency with Comsense. Safety checks and background screening are part of the hiring process.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of related experience in construction or building materials.
• Accurate mathematical skills.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Works directly with Contractor including the hard bid processes.
• Reviews scope of work with General Contractor pre/post bid and hardware packages to determine competitive position.
• Performs labor cost interpretation based on scope of work.
• Receives construction plans, drawings and specifications and reviews for familiarization; checks for completeness; notes bid deadlines and special requirements.
• Organizes approach to project by separating major project portions and identifying opening hardware sets.
• Interprets construction specs and discusses interpretations with team, customers, or architect.
• Reads building plans and identifies applicable portions with Cook & Boardman involvement.
• Summarizes door opening and other plan portions by type.
• Compares actual and estimated materials at project completion.
• Enters information into Comsense system and prices job based on cost files.
• Responsible for complete door and hardware takeoffs and costing all parts and scope of work.
• All other duties as assigned.
