Job summary

Big-D Construction in Lindon, UT is seeking a dynamic Estimator to join our team of construction professionals. This role focuses on developing accurate cost estimates for commercial and residential projects, from initial concepts through CM process, with oversight from architects and engineers.

You will prepare quantity takeoffs, organize scopes of work, and present estimates to owners, while coordinating with subcontractors and project teams to keep budgets on track.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience estimating commercial or residential construction projects for a general contractor.
• Strong time management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Timberline experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Defines work scope, solicits and selects subcontractors.
• Proficient in quantity takeoffs and organizing estimates.
• Participates in hard bidding projects and organizes scopes of work.
• Proficient in conceptual estimating through the CM process with architects and engineers.
• Translates CPM scheduling into construction budget and communicates with subcontractors.
• Understands means and methods of construction and labor productivity rates.
• Knows unit costs of materials and labor, and overall SF costs for building types.
• Leads VE sessions and develops relationships to win work.
• Presents estimates to owners and participates in forecast meetings.
