Key Responsibilities:

• Attending pre-bid meetings (some overnight traveling may be required).
• Reading and understanding project manuals.
• Understanding scope of work, assisting in carrying out site visits, measuring/taking off, and gathering data of buildings, as well as meeting subcontractors.
• Communicating effectively with the estimating department regarding delivery dates and uploading requirements.
• Supporting the estimating team with subcontractor and materials quote requests.
• Researching and recruiting new subcontractors as required for different trades.
• Updating quotations received from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Preparing initial cost estimates for projects of varying size and complexity, including materials price lists, labor costs, and equipment.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Self-starter with the ability to manage increasing workload over time.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, good with numbers, and capable of problem-solving on each unique project.
• Estimating and/or administrative experience is desirable but not essential.
• Proficient in the use of recognized electronic spreadsheets and word processing software.
• Ambitious to learn and develop a career in estimating.
