Job summary

gpac, a leading Houston area firm, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing team. This role focuses on delivering accurate, competitive bids across healthcare and other complex commercial projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of commercial construction estimating, strong knowledge of methods, materials, and local subcontractor market, and proficiency in estimating software. You will collaborate with PMs and field teams during preconstruction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Healthcare or technically complex project experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and local subcontractor market.
• Ability to interpret plans, specs, and contract documents.
• Proficiency in estimating software and takeoff tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates from conceptual design through final bid
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare quantity takeoffs
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Develop scope sheets and level bid comparisons
