Job summary

AGTEK Takeoffs in Kissimmee, FL is seeking an Estimator to join its preconstruction team for civil/site development projects. The role focuses on detailed takeoffs, bid spreadsheets, and pricing for earthwork, utilities, and sitework.

Ideal candidates have hands-on AGTEK Earthwork/Gradework experience and can read plans and specs. There is no overnight travel, and opportunities exist to grow into fuller estimating responsibilities under a leadership team.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on AGTEK Earthwork or Gradework experience and be able to independently use AGTEK for takeoffs.
• Experience in earthwork, grading, utilities, paving, or site development.
• Ability to read construction plans and specifications; review bid documents and geotechnical information.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed AGTEK takeoffs for earthwork, grading, utilities, paving, concrete, and related scopes.
• Build bid spreadsheets covering labor, materials, subcontractors, and quantities.
• Solicit and review pricing from material suppliers and subcontractors; support bid preparation.
• Assist in bid reviews with the Chief Estimator and participate in project handoffs after award.

A bit about us:

A multi-entity contractor in the greater Orlando area is looking to add an Estimator to its preconstruction team.

The company works across earthwork, grading, underground utilities, paving, and site development, with a strong local project base and consistent bid activity. This role is a good fit for someone who already knows AGTEK and wants to continue building their estimating experience alongside an experienced Chief Estimator and leadership team.

Projects are local, with no overnight or out-of-state travel, and there is room to take on more responsibility as experience grows.

Requirements

• Perform detailed AGTEK Earthwork / Gradework takeoffs
• Review plans, specifications, geotechnical information, and bid documents
• Complete quantity takeoffs for earthwork, grading, underground utilities, paving, concrete, and related scopes
• Build bid spreadsheets covering labor, materials, subcontractors, and quantities
• Solicit and review material and subcontractor pricing
• Support bid preparation and participate in bid reviews with the Chief Estimator
• Visit project sites when needed to support accurate pricing
• Communicate with general contractors throughout the bidding process
• Track outstanding bids and project status
• Support project handoff after award

Desired Qualifications

• 2+ years of estimating experience in civil construction, site development, excavation, underground utilities, or a related environment
• Hands-on AGTEK Earthwork or AGTEK Gradework experience required
• Must be able to independently use AGTEK for takeoffs
• Experience with earthwork, grading, utilities, paving, or sitework scopes
• Ability to read construction plans and specifications
• Experience with material and subcontractor pricing
• Strong Excel / Microsoft Office skills
• Experience working with general contractors on competitive bids preferred
• HeavyBid experience is a plus, not required
