Faulconer Construction in Charleston, SC seeks an experienced Estimator to prepare complete estimates for diverse projects, analyze plans and specifications, and maximize profitability to meet annual booking goals.

The role involves bid takeoffs, writing scopes, subcontractor solicitations, coordinating with Owners/Architects/Engineers, and supporting business development. Travel to pre-bid meetings and sites is required.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in construction management, business, or related field.
• 3+ years of direct work experience in civil construction estimating, including bid preparation.
• Thorough knowledge of standard estimating procedures and techniques.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, geotechnical reports, specs, and scopes of work to determine cost impacts.
• Willingness to travel to prebid meetings/site visits (overnight may be required).
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, PDF applications, Cosential, HCSS HeavyBid, AGTEK, Smartbid, iSqft, BuildingConnected, Dodge Reports, BetaSam.gov.

Responsabilités

• Follow in-house estimating procedures with bid books and takeoff forms.
• Review plans, specs, and geotechnical information for accurate takeoffs and pricing.
• Prepare complete estimates: labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Write detailed scopes of work with terms, inclusions, and exclusions.
• Interface with Owners and Architects/Engineers for price and value information.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and discuss proposals in weekly estimating meetings.
• Support operations staff and maintain relevant software knowledge.
• Visit current project sites to understand productions and construction means/methods.
• Maintain CRM and participate in business development activities.
• Assist with yearly business plan and market research.
