Job summary

Shimmick is seeking a talented Estimator to be based in Suisun City, CA, Irvine, CA, or Dallas, TX. This role supports complex civil infrastructure projects across Shimmick's expanding footprint.

Responsibilities include working with estimating systems, preparing bid packages, and analyzing subcontractor bids under supervision. Minimum qualifications require a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field with 2 years of experience; $90,000-$125,000 salary per year with comprehensive

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Rail, Transit, or Water/Wastewater construction projects.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Acquire basic understanding of estimating terminology, measures, concepts and principles for preparing estimates.
• Recognizes how various processes/project actions and assumptions may impact estimates.
• Under supervision prepares bid packages, conceptual estimates and analysis of subcontractor bids for projects.
• Performs duties with limited complexity under direct supervision, such as material take offs, compilation of historical data.
• Assist in the preparation of larger and more complex estimating assignments including the Estimate Plan.

Responsibilities

• Works with the Company estimating systems and processes.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Rail, Transit, or Water/Wastewater construction projects.
• Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage changing deadlines and work well under pressure for multiple team leaders.
• Work independently and effectively to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information

The salary range for this position is between $90,000 - $125,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.
