Job summary

Welker in Sugar Land, TX seeks a detail-oriented Estimator to prepare accurate quotations for custom engineered products. You will review inquiries, specs, drawings, and requirements to define scope and price.

You will work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Sales to evaluate costs, perform cost rollups, update price lists, and support proposals with technical and commercial information. A Bachelor’s or Associate in a related field plus strong Excel skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review customer inquiries, specifications, drawings, and technical requirements to determine project scope.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for custom engineered products and systems in a timely manner with a focus on accuracy and priority.
• Update published price list and discount list.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Sales teams to evaluate product requirements and production costs.
• Analyze material, labor, machining, assembly, and testing requirements to develop competitive pricing.
• Utilize ERP system to maintain quote records, cost, and sales prices.
• Perform cost rollup of completed engineering packages.
• Support Sales by providing technical and commercial information related to quotations.

About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to prepare accurate quotations for custom-engineered products and solutions. This role serves as a critical link between customers, sales, engineering, and operations by ensuring project requirements are thoroughly evaluated and priced appropriately. The ideal candidate enjoys analyzing technical information, interpreting specifications, and working through complex requirements to develop timely and competitive proposals. Candidates must have the ability to quickly assess situations, exercise good judgment, and understand the interdependencies of project elements and anticipate how modifications will affect the overall system, equipment, schedule, and project objectives. Required Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Manufacturing, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience preparing estimates, quotations, proposals, or bids in a manufacturing, industrial, or oil and gas environment
• Experience working in manufacturing is a plus
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical specifications
• Familiarity with ERP systems and cost analysis
• Understanding of machining, fabrication, assembly, or manufacturing processes
• Experience supporting custom-engineered or made-to-order products
