Job summary

Western Steel Buildings is looking for an Estimator to support our PEMB projects, including recreation, warehouse, aviation, and education facilities. The role emphasizes accuracy of project estimates and managing financial risk.

The candidate should bring 5–10 years of estimating experience in construction and be proficient with metal building software; Tekla experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Metal Building Software with 5-10 years of relevant experience (preferred).
• Experience with Tekla is a plus.
• Estimating experience within and knowledge of the construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a knowledgeable resource in PEMB design for internal and external stakeholders.
• Advise the sales team on best practices for steel building takeoffs and design.
• Responsible for identifying, managing, and mitigating financial risk exposure to Western Steel Buildings.
• Maintains knowledge of third-party vendors to accurately estimate project costs.
• Develop and improve knowledge of PEMB best practices and design limitations.
• Review estimates completed by the sales team and other estimators for accuracy and scope.
• Reports to Estimating Manager.
