Job summary

STO Building Group is seeking an Estimator to prepare estimates for diverse projects, collaborate with the project team on cost accuracy, and support other estimators and managers in estimating tasks.

The role involves reading contract documents, performing quantity take-offs, bidding with subs, and developing bid proposals while coordinating schedules and related duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management or equivalent education/experience.
• At least 2 years of estimating experience on commercial/industrial projects with hard-bid, design-build or conceptual estimating.
• Experience with large projects is highly preferred.
• Project size around $20M+ is favorable.
• Local or open to relocation to either area.

Responsibilities

• Prepares estimates for potential projects using hard-bid, design-build and conceptual estimating.

• Performs quantity take-offs, organizes and prices information.
• Solicits bids and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Communicates pricing questions with subs and suppliers.
• Prepares estimate formats for general conditions, bidding, quantity takeoffs and bid analysis.
• Assists with bid proposal preparation for submittal.
• Prepares outline schedules for proposed projects.
• Assists staff on special estimating projects.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Communicates with subs and suppliers to clarify pricing information.
• Prepares estimate formats in such areas as general conditions, general bidding, quantity takeoffs and bid analysis.
• Assists with the preparation of bid proposal for submittal.
• Prepares outline schedules for proposed projects.
• Assists staff members with various special projects related to estimating.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 2 year experience in estimating commercial and/or industrial construction projects, showing competence in hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual estimating.
• Relevant experience is going to be highly preferred
• Project size will be considered; ideally $20M or greater
