Job summary

STO Building Group is seeking an Associate Estimator in Phoenix, AZ to prepare estimates, assist project teams, and ensure cost accuracy across submissions. The role supports hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual estimating while coordinating with subs, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a civil engineering or construction management degree, strong MS Office skills, and familiarity with estimating software such as Destini Estimator, BlueBeam, Assemble, and On

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management or equivalent education/experience.
• Preferred knowledge of Destini Estimator, BlueBeam, Assemble, and On Screen Take-off.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of construction practices; experience with Revit and Primavera preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing estimates for potential projects using hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual estimating.
• Read and understand contract documents (plans, specifications & addenda).
• Perform quantity take-offs, organize and price information.
• Solicit bids and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Communicate pricing information with subs and suppliers.
• Prepare estimate formats for general conditions, general bidding, quantity takeoffs and bid analysis.
• Assist with bid proposal preparation for submittal.
• Prepare outline schedules for proposed projects.
• Assist staff with various special projects related to estimating.

Duties

• Ensures that “Constructing with Integrity” is delivered by working with honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work.
• Assists other in preparing estimates for potential projects, using hard-bid, design-build and conceptual estimating.
• Reads and understands contract documents (plans, specifications & addenda).
• Performs quantity take-offs, organizes and prices information.

Qualifications

• Preferred working knowledge of Destini Estimator software, BlueBeam, Assemble, and other latest software and technology.
• Preferred working knowledge of On Screen Take-off
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to operate office equipment, such as computer, printer, phone, copier, fax, etc.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Appropriate knowledge of construction practices and methods.
• Working knowledge of Revit and Primavera systems preferred.
