Job summary

Weldway Steel Fab, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. You will prepare accurate cost estimates for projects, review drawings, and collaborate with project managers to ensure feasibility and on-time delivery.

You will perform takeoffs for structural steel and related materials, analyze market pricing, and coordinate with Purchasing and subcontractors to obtain pricing, while maintaining thorough documentation to protect Weldway's interests.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Review bid invitations, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and requirements.
• Prepare detailed takeoffs for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and related materials.
• Prepare estimate prices on change orders on existing contracts assuring proper accounting.
• Read and understand job bid instructions and detailed specifications.
• Estimate all necessary labor, materials, buyout items and equipment costs.
• Analyze historical data and current market pricing to ensure competitive and accurate bids.
• Ensure projects meet cost requirements.
• Interface with necessary department and subcontractors to determine the scheduling of work and materials.
• Coordinate with Purchasing to obtain vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Meet with key personnel to ensure timelines of each project.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, scope reviews, and post-bid negotiations.
• Ensure all aspects of projects are properly and thoroughly documented to ensure Weldway's interests are protected.
• Implementation of goals to increase Weldway Steel Fab, Inc.'s reputation with General Contractors.
