Job summary

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience as an electrical estimator, knowledge of codes, and proficiency with estimation software. Collaboration with PMs, engineers, and clients is essential to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Experience as an Electrical Estimator in the commercial construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation.
• Proficiency with estimation software and tools.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• ASPE or AACE certification advantageous.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating the costs of installations for various commercial construction projects. This role involves analyzing blueprints, determining material and labor costs, and preparing competitive project bids. This is an onsite position.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints and specifications to determine the requirements of projects.
• Estimate the cost of materials, labor, and equipment needed for electrical installations.
• Prepare and submit detailed and accurate project bids.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project scope and requirements.
• Maintain and update cost databases to reflect current market prices for materials and labor.
• Evaluate potential profitability of projects and provide recommendations to management.
• Identify and implement cost‑saving measures and solutions to increase project profitability.
• Ensure all estimates comply with relevant electrical codes and standards.
• Communicate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing information.
• Monitor and report on project progress and cost performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in the commercial construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation.
• Proficient in using estimation software and tools.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Certification through the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) or the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) International is advantageous.
