Job summary

Engtal, a well-established Connecticut general contractor, is seeking an experienced mid-level to senior Estimator to join the team. The role involves managing estimates from initial review through final bid for both competitive bids and design-build projects.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive construction knowledge, field experience is a plus, and proficiency with estimating software. Strong communication and organization are essential to coordinate with management and field teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience with a General Contractor or CM firm.
• Extensive construction knowledge and understanding of how projects are built.
• Experience with competitive bid and/or design-build projects; a mix of both preferred.
• Previous field construction experience is a strong plus.
• Proficiency with construction estimating software and technology.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial construction projects from conceptual through final bid.
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes, and other bid documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop accurate labor and material pricing.
• Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor proposals.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Work closely with project management and field teams throughout preconstruction.
• Support both competitive bid and design-build pursuits.
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.

Compensation: Up to $200,000 Base Salary

Employment Type: Full-Time

A well-established Connecticut general contractor is looking to add an experienced mid level to Senior Estimator to its team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong construction background who can confidently manage estimates from initial review through final bid.

The ideal candidate will have experience across both competitive bid and design-build projects and a strong understanding of construction means, methods, materials, and costs. Previous field experience is a major plus.

Compensation
