Job summary

MPI is seeking a Senior Estimator in Torrington, CT to lead the estimating department and manage end-to-end project estimates. The role involves collaborating with junior estimators and reporting to the VP of Estimating.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of estimating experience with a general contractor, a BS in engineering or construction management, and strong Excel/Suretrack/Timberline proficiency to deliver accurate bids under pressure.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of estimating experience with a general contractor.
• BS degree in engineering or construction management.
• Detail oriented with an ability to organize and manage detailed analysis.
• Experience with estimating, scheduling and/or project management tools.
• High competency with Suretrack, Excel and Timberline; strong communication skills.

Job Description

The Estimator is responsible for:

• Reporting to VP of Estimating
• Leading/preparing project estimates start to finish
• Collaborating with junior estimators

The Successful Applicant

The right Estimator has the following qualifications:

• 7+ years of Estimating experience with a general contractor
• B.S degree in engineering or construction management
• Detail oriented with a demonstrated ability to organize and manage detailed analysis
• Experience with estimating, scheduling and/or project management technology
• Have a high degree of competency with Suretrack, Excel and Timberline
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
