Job summary

Construction Specialties, Inc. is seeking a Pre-Sales professional to interpret customer requirements from drawings and requests, and to prepare accurate cost estimates and price quotations in a collaborative office environment.

You will correspond with field representatives, architects, and contractors to obtain information and recommend changes to improve cost, delivery or product. This role supports order entry and production details in a hybrid setup at our Muncy location.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and/or 1-3 years of related construction industry experience.
• Knowledge in reading/interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge in design basics, construction documents and fabrication methods preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret customer product requirements from takeoffs, drawings and specifications to prepare quotes.
• Correspond with sales reps, architects and contractors to obtain information and propose changes to improve cost or delivery.
• Prepare complete cost estimates and price quotations from drawings, bid forms, and requests.
• Provide technical product support to designers and customers related to quotes.
• Report to department supervisor and assist in order entry, drafting, and production details.
• Ensure conformance to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements and participate in continuous improvement.

Job description

Interprets product requirements from takeoffs, specifications, architectural drawings and verbal/written requests to create sales quotations. Corresponds with field representatives, architects, subcontractors/contractors and internal personnel in preparation of sales quotations in an office environment.

• Interprets customer product requirements from takeoffs, architectural drawings and verbal or written specifications. Provides specifications to Drafting Department.
• Corresponds with sales representatives, architects and contractors to obtain missing information and recommend change or substitution to improve cost, delivery or product.
• Works from drawings, bid forms and verbal or written request to prepare complete and informational cost estimates and price quotations.
• Interacts with sales reps and internal personnel to provide accurate bidding
• Assists in providing details for order entry, drafting, production and layout of orders received.
• Provides technical product support to designers and customers as related to the quotes.
• Performs other related work for completion of job history and order file.
• Ensures conformance to all aspects of the ISO 14001 standard and Construction Specialties’ Environmental
• Management System (EMS), including its environmental policy while performing job functions that may have a significant impact on the environment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management
• Reports directly to the department supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality management system and ISO 14001 environmental management system requirements, including adherence to documented procedures, participation in audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION: (Minimum Education and/or Experience required)

• Associate degree and/or 1-3 years of related construction industry experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge in reading/interpreting architectural drawings and specifications
• Knowledge in design basics, construction documents and fabrication methods preferred
• Architectural drafting background or related material take off experience helpful

COMPETENCIES:

• Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload and schedule effectively
• Communication skills necessary to work effectively with both internal and external customers including contractors, sales reps, and manufacturing personnel
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks
• Strong organizational skills
• Detail-oriented
• Knowledge of CRM/Salesforce a plus
