Job summary

Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical and telecommunications construction projects.

You will work with project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and clients to support successful bids and operational excellence. The role requires reading drawings, specs, and contracts, with a focus on electrical construction practices and timely submissions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of estimating, project management, or construction experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs and contracts.
• Knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials, and industry practices.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete and accurate cost estimates for residential, commercial, industrial, utility, and infrastructure projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and labor calculations using estimating software.
• Analyze project requirements, costs, risks, and opportunities to develop competitive bids.
• Maintain estimating databases, cost histories, and pricing information.
• Solicit, review, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
• Develop project scopes, clarifications, and proposal packages.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project reviews.
• Collaborate with operations and project management during turnover and pre-construction activities.
• Ensure estimates are completed accurately and submitted within deadlines.

Job Description

Davis H. Elliot is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of electrical and telecommunications construction projects. Working closely with project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and clients, you will play a critical role in securing successful projects and supporting operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
