Job summary

Sulzer is seeking a Tendering Engineer to provide technical support to sales and generate repair scope estimates. The role targets early-career professionals who will analyze product configurations and support pricing decisions in collaboration with seniors.

Responsibilities include coordinating inspections, creating service profiles, and reviewing quotes with production and sales teams. The position emphasizes Lean practices, safety, and continual improvement within a global engineering

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent combined with relevant work experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with no prior professional experience required.
• Strong computer, written, and oral skills.
• Must be able to work overtime when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates between multiple departments to complete inspections and recommendations in a timely manner.
• Creates, reviews and modifies service profiles and quotation language to improve accuracy.
• Reviews quotes and cost reports with production and submits to sales.
• Maintains quality notes and files for each completed quotation.
• Improves efficiency and accuracy within the Estimating Department; supports Lean objectives.
• Supports safety, risk procedures, and company initiatives.

About the role

Job Summary
The Tendering Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to sales The Estimator is responsible for generating repair scopes/estimates for the customer and sales teams and conducting technical analysis of product configurations to determine customer-specific pricing.
This job profile is intended for early-career professionals who apply broad theoretical knowledge and require the ability to investigate and analyze problems. Solutions are typically discussed/verified with a more senior member.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Observes Company Safety Policy and Procedures; follow and support all STS Safety Policies and ISO Procedures.
• Coordinators between multiple departments to complete inspections and recommendations in a timely manner
• Create Standard Service profiles with in currently used program
• Create, review and modify service profiles to improve accuracy of department Instructions, budgeted shop cost, and quotation language.
• Combine service profiles to complete project action items.
• Identify project action items for adders, additional scopes of work, etc.
• Gathering and reviewing recommendations and associated shop costs.
• Gathering and reviewing quotes for outside vendor services.
• Review and edit quote language and presentation.
• Review detailed cost report and quote presentation with production and submit to sales.
• Maintain quality notes and files for each completed quotation
• Work with other Estimators to improve efficiency and accuracy with in the Estimating Department.
• Maintain LEAN objectives within the department.
• Complete company-required training.
• Proactively engage and support company initiatives designed to promote a culture of safe working, environmental protection and continual improvement.
• Comply with the requirements of risk assessments and safety procedures.
• Use PPE as identified in risk assessments or other related safety documents.
• Do not undertake activities that have not been risk assessed, or where an assessment is not available or understood.
• Report any instances of spillage, uncontrolled exposure or other related safety issues to their line manager.
• Ensure the correct use of waste segregation facilities and the efficient use of natural resources and raw materials.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent combined with relevant work experience, O R a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with no previous professional experience required
• Strong computer, written, and oral skills
• Must be able to work overtime when necessary
