Job summary

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimation.
  • Proficient in project estimation, utilities, concrete, earthwork, drainage, roadway, and takeoffs.
  • Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficient in CAD, On-Screen Takeoff, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • A team player with the ability to work independently when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive, detailed project cost estimates that reflect construction costs and timelines.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Review material and labor requirements to decide whether to produce or purchase components.
  • Prepare cost and expenditure statements for the duration of the project.
  • Conduct site visits to gather data for accurate bids.
  • Utilize specialized software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Follow up with subcontractors to ensure bids are received.
  • Conduct studies to develop standard cost data and potential reductions.

Job Details
  • Develop comprehensive, detailed project cost estimates that accurately reflect the cost of construction and project timelines.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects or services.
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it's more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
  • Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
  • Conduct site visits and gather all necessary data to provide an accurate and competitive bid.
  • Utilize specialized software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Regularly follow up with subcontractors to ensure that bids are received.
  • Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
