Job summary

Fisk Electric, a Tutor Perini Company, in Dallas, TX, is seeking an Estimator to join our office. As an Estimator reporting to the Chief Estimator, you will lead engineered estimates up to $5M and contribute to conceptual budgets up to $1M on commercial electrical projects.

The ideal candidate has a four-year Construction/Engineering degree, 2+ years of experience with a commercial electrical contractor, and proficiency with estimating software such as McCormick and Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• Four-year Construction/Engineering degree or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience with a commercial electrical contractor.
• 1+ years electrical estimating experience with on-screen take-off preferred.
• Proficient with computer systems and estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Lead fully engineered estimates up to $5M.
• Understand conceptual estimates and budgets up to $1M.
• Review scope in the proposal and ensure appropriate estimates.
• Develop detailed cost estimates and resolve questions with project team.
• Review contract documents for scope and cost allowances.
• Mentor Estimator Trainees & Estimator 1 staff.

DESCRIPTION

As an Estimator at Fisk Electric, reporting to the Chief Estimator, you will have the opportunity to:

• Responsible for multiple systems on Technical, Health Care or Industrial projects
• Lead fully engineered estimates up to $5M
• Understand the concepts and process of conceptual estimates and budgets up to $1M
• Review the scope specified within the proposal and ensure estimates include appropriate scope
• Develop detailed cost estimates and proactively identify deficiencies and/or questions; actively assist the project team toward the answers
• Review contract documents and contract modifications to determine scope of work and equitable cost allowance for scope changes
• Proficient with estimating software
• Working knowledge of McCormick and Bluebeam
• Proven accuracy, reliability and completeness in job accomplishment
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Review Estimate take-offs
• Understanding and familiarity with NEC
• Mentoring Estimator Trainees & Estimator 1 staff

REQUIREMENTS

• Four year Construction/Engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related career experience
• 2 or more years of experience working for a commercial electrical contractor
• One plus years recent Electrical Estimating experience with on-screen take-off experience preferred
• Computer literate and able to quickly master and apply department's computer systems and software
