Job summary

Fisk Electric Company is seeking an Estimator to join our office in San Antonio, TX. This role focuses on leading engineered estimates for technical, health care, or industrial projects, with support to mentor trainees and ensure accuracy throughout the bid process.

Ideal candidates have a four-year construction/engineering background, 2+ years in electrical estimating, and strong skills in estimating software and on-screen take-off such as McCormick and Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• Four year Construction/Engineering degree or equivalent training/experience.
• 2+ years of experience with commercial electrical contractors.
• Proficient with estimating software and on-screen take-off.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineered estimates for Technical, Health Care or Industrial projects up to $5M.
• Develop conceptual estimates and budgets up to $1M.
• Review proposal scope to ensure estimates include appropriate scope.
• Develop detailed cost estimates and address deficiencies with the project team.
• Review contract documents and modifications for scope and costs.
• Proficient with estimating software and tools (McCormick, Bluebeam).
• Mentor Estimator Trainees & junior staff; maintain accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain NEC familiarity and effective written/oral communication.

DESCRIPTION:

As an Estimator at Fisk Electric, reporting to the Chief Estimator, you will have the opportunity to:

• Responsible for multiple systems on Technical, Health Care or Industrial projects
• Lead fully engineered estimates up to $5M
• Understand the concepts and process of conceptual estimates and budgets up to $1M
• Review the scope specified within the proposal and ensure estimates include appropriate scope
• Develop detailed cost estimates and proactively identify deficiencies and/or questions; actively assist the project team toward the answers
• Review contract documents and contract modifications to determine scope of work and equitable cost allowance for scope changes
• Proficient with estimating software
• Working knowledge of McCormick and Bluebeam
• Proven accuracy, reliability and completeness in job accomplishment
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Review Estimate take-offs
• Understanding and familiarity with NEC
• Mentoring Estimator Trainees & Estimator 1 staff

REQUIREMENTS:

• Four year Construction/Engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related career experience
• 2 or more years of experience working for a commercial electrical contractor
• One plus years recent Electrical Estimating experience with on-screen take-off experience preferred
• Computer literate and able to quickly master and apply department's computer systems and software
