Job summary

TerraBuild Construction Supply in Cypress, TX is seeking a full-time on-site Estimator to review construction plans, quantify materials, and prepare accurate cost estimates for civil, utility, and stormwater projects.

You will obtain vendor quotes, verify pricing, update databases, and support bid proposals while coordinating with sales, project managers, and customers to ensure competitive, timely estimates in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Interpret construction drawings, specs, and project documents.
• Proficient with estimating software, takeoff tools, spreadsheets, and common construction software.
• Knowledge of civil construction materials, especially pipe systems, stormwater detention, fittings, valves.
• Strong communication and collaboration with internal teams, manufacturers and customers in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with organizational skills and ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
• Experience in construction estimating, civil construction, or construction materials supply preferred.
• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in CM/engineering a plus.

Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Estimator role based in Cypress, TX. The Estimator will review construction plans and specifications, quantify materials, and prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil, utility, and stormwater management projects. This role involves obtaining and analyzing vendor and manufacturer quotes, verifying pricing and availability, and ensuring that estimates reflect current market conditions. The Estimator will collaborate closely with sales, project managers, and customers to clarify project requirements, answer technical questions, and support bid proposals. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include maintaining organized estimate records, updating pricing databases, and contributing to continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools.

Qualifications

• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Proficiency with estimating or takeoff software, spreadsheets, and general computer applications commonly used in construction supply.
• Knowledge of civil construction materials and applications, especially pipe systems, stormwater detention systems, fittings, valves, and related infrastructure products.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with internal teams, manufacturers, and customers in a fast‑paced environment.
• Detail‑oriented approach with strong organizational skills, time management, and the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
• Prior experience in construction estimating, civil construction, or construction materials supply is strongly preferred.
