Job summary

Blueprint Search Group in Cincinnati is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join a growing general contractor and take ownership of the preconstruction process. You will lead estimating efforts across initial takeoffs, bidding, GMP pricing, and value engineering to set the project up for success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• General contractor estimating experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods and sequencing.
• Experience estimating civil, structural, architectural, and MEP scopes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, DD, CD, and GMP estimates.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs across CSI Divisions 02–33.
• Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, overlaps, and pricing risks.
• Develop bid tabs, estimate summaries, SOVs, and supporting documentation.
• Provide value-engineering alternatives and pricing options.
• Maintain historical pricing, unit costs, and estimating databases.
• Work closely with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project teams.
• Support buyout and turnover from preconstruction to operations.

Commercial Construction Estimator

Job Type: Full-Time

Experience: 5+ Years Commercial Construction Estimating

We’re seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join a growing general contractor and play a key role in preconstruction.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of estimating experience with a commercial GC and can manage an estimate from initial takeoff and subcontractor bidding through scope leveling, GMP pricing, value engineering, and project turnover.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare conceptual, DD, CD, and GMP estimates
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs across CSI Divisions 02–33
• Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier bids
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, overlaps, and pricing risks
• Develop bid tabs, estimate summaries, SOVs, and supporting documentation
• Provide value-engineering alternatives and pricing options

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
• General contractor estimating experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods and sequencing
• Experience estimating civil, structural, architectural, and MEP scopes
• Strong quantity takeoff and subcontractor bid-leveling skills
• Ability to identify scope gaps and cost risks before construction
• Strong Excel and construction estimating software skills
• Excellent organization, communication, and negotiation skills

Software experience is a plus: ProEst, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Forma, BIM platforms, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and advanced Excel.
