Job summary

Spear D Construction is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Albuquerque team. You will prepare accurate and competitive project bids, working closely with project managers and vendors to ensure successful outcomes.

Ideal candidates have a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and experience with estimating software and Bluebeam, as well as a solid grasp of construction methods and materials. This role supports the bid and procurement process in a deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction estimating experience.
• Experience in commercial, civil, or plumbing construction preferred.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam or similar software.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
• Coordinate with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors to obtain pricing.
• Track bid deadlines and manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
• Assist leadership in evaluating bid strategy and project risk.
