Senior Estimator

Location: Dumfries, VA

Well established and fast-growing fire sprinkler contractor is looking for an experienced full time commercial fire sprinkler Estimator. We work in VA, DC & MD metro areas.

• Experience level: Mid-senior
• Experience required: 5 Years
• Education level: High school or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and schedule daily work assignments
• Estimate new construction, tenant and retrofit projects
• Complete understanding of the sequence of construction - Follow established safety protocols and VOSCHA standards - Maintain bid/proposals on Company spreadsheets.
• Must be proficient in the use of computers and email
• Understand financial metrics regarding department profitability
• Read and understand Architectural, MEP, Structural and Fire Protection plans - Survey jobs prior to bidding

Experience & Skills Desired

• Minimum of 5 years estimating commercial fire sprinkler system
• Knowledge and understanding of NFPA #13, 20, 14 standards for installing Fire sprinkler systems.
• Must be able to work to deadlines with some OT
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read, write and comprehend contracts, code interpretations and industry documents
• Experience with Excel, Word & Microsoft Outlook
• Detailed oriented and organized
• Communicate effectively with co-workers
