Job summary

Anchor Construction Corporation is seeking an Estimating Intern to support our Estimating Department on civil construction projects across the DC/Maryland/Virginia region. This role is ideal for students or new graduates pursuing construction management, engineering, or estimating.

You will assist with quantity takeoffs, review plans and bid documents, request pricing from subs and vendors, and enter data into estimating software and spreadsheets. Paid holidays and benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; pursuing or completed degree preferred.
• Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quantity takeoffs for civil projects, including utilities, concrete, earthwork, drainage, and roadway work.
• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents.
• Request and track subcontractor and vendor pricing.
• Enter quantities and pricing data into estimating software and spreadsheets.
• Maintain organized estimating files and cost databases.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and internal bid reviews as needed.
