Job summary

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers in Lone Tree, CO is seeking an Estimating Intern for Summer 2027. You will join the Estimating Group within the Infrastructure Design Department, supporting quantity takeoffs, pricing, and preliminary project plans in design-build infrastructure projects.

The role offers hands-on learning in collaboration with engineers and designers, exposure to cross-disciplinary disciplines, and the chance to develop practical skills in estimating, procurement, and risk

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related degree preferred.
• GPA above 3.0 preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong mathematical and computer skills.
• Able to meet deadlines and communicate effectively.
• Strong work ethic with ability to work independently or in a team.
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and interpret Contract Documents (RFP, specifications).
• Perform quantity takeoff and pricing for design-build projects in infrastructure.
• Coordinate with estimators and engineers for constructability input and value engineering.
• Participate in Task Force Meetings and working sessions.
• Identify, quantify, and communicate risk during estimating.
• Perform site visits and investigations as needed.
