Job summary

Knobelsdorff is seeking a motivated candidate to join a dedicated bidding team. You will review bid packages, solicit pricing, and help develop competitive proposals for a range of projects in automation, electrical, and energy services.

The role emphasizes data-driven pricing, collaboration with internal teams, and maintaining project documentation. This entry-level opportunity starts in May 2027 at a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Review bid packages and help develop high-quality pricing and proposals.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams to solicit pricing for bids.
• Analyze historical data to refine pricing accuracy.
• Estimate self-perform labor and equipment costs for proposals.
• Maintain a solar pricing database and assemblies.
• Identify project risks and raise them for discussion.
• Manage project files, drawings, documents, and records.

Job Description

You’ll be part of a team that gets things done, works with purpose, and takes pride in the results. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities may include:

• Review bid packages and participate in developing high‑quality pricing and proposal.
• Work with internal and external team members to solicit pricing and assist with completing bid packages.
• Review historical project data and lessons learned with construction teams to further refine and increase the accuracy of the pricing model.
• Estimate self‑perform labor and equipment production costs to be incorporated into the proposal.
• Continually maintain a solar estimating database of pricing and assemblies.
• Identify potential project risks and bring them forward for discussion.
• Manage project files, drawings, documents & records in our project system.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Additional Information

Pay Range

We believe in paying for the value you bring to the team, and we aim to be competitive in every market we hire in. Pay Range: $20 - $25/hour
