Job summary

Knobelsdorff Enterprises in Minnesota is seeking a student intern to join our bid pricing and project support team. You will review bid packages, assist with pricing, and help refine pricing models while gaining hands-on experience in automation, electrical, and solar projects.

Requirements include pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering, proficiency with Word/Excel/Outlook/SharePoint, and the ability to travel.

• Estimate self-perform labor and equipment costs for proposals.
• Maintain a solar estimating database of pricing and assemblies.
• Identify potential project risks and address them.
• Manage project files and documents in the project system.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Description

You’ll be part of a team that gets things done, works with purpose, and takes pride in the results. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

• Review bid packages and participate in developing high-quality pricing and proposal.
• Work with internal and external team members to solicit pricing and assist with completing bid packages.
• Review historical project data and lessons learned with construction teams to further refine and increase the accuracy of the pricing model.
• Estimate self-perform labor and equipment production costs to be incorporated into the proposal.
• Continually maintain a solar estimating database of pricing and assemblies.
• Identify potential project risks and bring them forward for discussion.
• Manage project files, drawings, documents & records in our project system.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Additional Information

Pay Range

We believe in paying for the value you bring to the team, and we aim to be competitive in every market we hire in.

Pay Range: $20 - $25/hour
