The Christman Company is seeking an Estimating Engineer Intern for our Summer Internship program in the Dallas, Texas area. This paid opportunity gives undergraduates hands-on exposure to drawings, takeoffs, pricing, and BIM/VDC-related tasks while learning from our estimating team.

Qualifications

• Active, full-time Sophomore–Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings and project specifications.
• Survey/quantify materials from drawings.
• Develop knowledge of 2D on-screen takeoff/3D QTO technologies and estimating platform.
• Organize quantity takeoffs for audit readiness.
• Estimate interiors and participate in Project planning.
• Learn basic structural/civil estimating at DD/Construction levels.
• Coordinate with trade contractors/suppliers for pricing.
• Assist BIM/VR/AR workflows for project planning.
