The Christman Company is seeking Estimating Engineer Interns for a Summer Internship Program across Lansing, Grand Rapids, and Detroit regions. You will read drawings, quantify materials, and develop familiarity with BIM, QTO, and pricing processes while supporting project planning and site visits.

The role targets active civil engineering or construction management students with 3.0+ GPA, prior construction exposure, and leadership involvement in student groups.

Qualifications

• Active, full-time Sophomore–Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Previous work or internship in the commercial construction industry.
• Demonstrates participation or leadership in student organizations or clubs.

Responsabilités

• Read and interpret drawings and project specifications.
• Survey and quantify materials from drawings.
• Develop knowledge of 2D takeoff, 3D QTO, and estimating platforms.
• Organize quantity takeoffs for audit readiness.
• Estimate interiors and basic structural/civil elements.
• Support design development and construction-level drawing activities.
• Assist with BIM, VR/AR tools, and project planning tasks.
• Engage with trade contractors for pricing and data collection.
