Job summary

Hynes Industries in Youngstown, OH seeks an Estimating Engineer to support RFQ activities, cost estimation, and pricing for roll-forming opportunities. You will collaborate with Sales, Commercial, Engineering and Operations to produce accurate quotes and respond to customer inquiries.

The role requires mechanical engineering knowledge, with experience in estimating, AutoCAD, Inventor, and strong Excel skills. Prior sales exposure is a plus and collaboration across teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• Prior estimating experience preferred; not required.
• Sales experience or prior commercial role is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings/prints.

Responsibilities

• Support quote process/activity for RFQ’s and re-quotes for existing jobs.
• Work cross-functionally with Sales, Commercial, Engineering and Operations to generate costing and pricing.
• Develop detailed cost estimates and secure tooling quotes with Engineering.
• Communicate with customers and respond to inquiries; refine quote process.
• Prioritize workload with Sales/Commercial group; perform other engineering tasks as assigned.

# Estimating EngineerYoungstown Manufacturing Headquarters - Youngstown, OH 44515## DescriptionSupport quote process/activity for commercial RFQ’s, contract pricing and re-quotes for existing jobs. Works cross functionally with Sales/Commercial, Engineering and Operations and other functional areas as required to generate costing and pricing in response to customer inquiries.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Standard Quoting includes the following**:* Works closely with Hynes Sales Reps and Customer Service team to support New Quotes of Standard roll-forming opportunities under the direction of the Estimating Engineer* Support Quote Sheet, Quote Tracking, Pipeline Updates, underlying data, and methodology with Sales and Commercial leadership of these items* Works with Sales Reps to ensure RFQ / SJR submissions are complete.* Works with Engineering, Operations and Procurement to develop detailed cost estimates. Also works with Engineering to secure tooling quotes.* Investigates, interprets, and makes recommendations related to customer specifications and requirements to aid in Hynes costing approach.* Communicates with internal and external customers and responds to customer inquiries and support as required.* Applies strong people/interaction skills to make well-developed oral and written communications.* Collects technical and operational information from numerous Engineering, Commercial, Procurement and Operations sources to aid in decision making and refine/improve quote process and outcomes.* Engages in other activities in support of Engineering as required* Work with Sales/Commercial group to prioritize workload* Other Engineering related tasks/duties as assigned## Qualifications* Education and/or Experience: Associate orBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.* Prior estimating experience preferred, but not necessary, in related Manufacturing or Fabrication/Tool and Die/Roll forming/Stamping business.* Sales experience or prior commercial role a plus.**Skills:*** Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings/prints required* Prior Sales Estimating/Quoting experience* AutoCAD and Inventor* Microsoft Office, MS Project* Extensive experience working with Excel is essential
