Job summary

Hynes Industries Inc seeks a skilled estimator to support RFQ responses and standard quoting for mechanical fabrication. You will read drawings, gather cost data from multiple sources, and work with Sales, Commercial, Engineering and Operations to develop pricing.

The role requires strong collaboration, accurate tooling quotes, and continual improvement of the quote process. A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology and prior estimating experience are preferred;

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology required.
• Prior estimating/quoting experience preferred.
• Strong ability to read drawings and perform cost estimation.

Responsibilities

• Support RFQ and quote activities for standard roll-forming opportunities.
• Collaborate with Sales, Commercial, Engineering and Operations to develop cost estimates.
• Prepare and maintain quote sheets, tracking, and data methodology.

Job description

Support quote process/activity for commercial RFQ’s, contract pricing and re-quotes for existing jobs. Works cross functionally with Sales/Commercial, Engineering and Operations and other functional areas as required to generate costing and pricing in response to customer inquiries.Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Standard Quoting includes the following:Works closely with Hynes Sales Reps and Customer Service team to support New Quotes of Standard roll-forming opportunities under the direction of the Estimating EngineerSupport Quote Sheet, Quote Tracking, Pipeline Updates, underlying data, and methodology with Sales and Commercial leadership of these itemsWorks with Sales Reps to ensure RFQ / SJR submissions are complete.Works with Engineering, Operations and Procurement to develop detailed cost estimates. Also works with Engineering to secure tooling quotes.Investigates, interprets, and makes recommendations related to customer specifications and requirements to aid in Hynes costing approach.Communicates with internal and external customers and responds to customer inquiries and support as required.Applies strong people/interaction skills to make well-developed oral and written communications.Collects technical and operational information from numerous Engineering, Commercial, Procurement and Operations sources to aid in decision making and refine/improve quote process and outcomes.Engages in other activities in support of Engineering as requiredWork with Sales/Commercial group to prioritize workloadOther Engineering related tasks/duties as assignedEducation and/or Experience: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.Prior estimating experience preferred, but not necessary, in related Manufacturing or Fabrication/Tool and Die/Roll forming/Stamping business.Sales experience or prior commercial role a plus.Skills:Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings/prints requiredPrior Sales Estimating/Quoting experienceAutoCAD and InventorMicrosoft Office, MS ProjectExtensive experience working with Excel is essential
