Job summary

You will work with Sales/Commercial, Engineering and Operations to deliver technical solutions responding to client inquiries.

Requires 10+ years in manufacturing, CAD with Inventor preferred, print reading and tolerances, automated equipment knowledge, and PLC controls.

Qualifications

• Education: 2yr Associate or 4yr Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years experience in manufacturing environment.
• Print reading and interpretation with dimensioning/tolerances.
• Experience with automated equipment and processes; PLCs and controls.
• Proven 3D/2D CAD skills (Inventor preferred).

Responsibilities

• Define technical scope of work for client requests with Sales/Commercial.
• Review and analyze client data to form technical opinions.
• Determine tooling and manufacturing philosophy with the team.

Summary:Provide technical support work for new manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling to support Hynes’ complex and major pursuit opportunities. Works cross functionally with Sales/Commercial, Engineering and Operations and other functional areas as required to generate technical solutions in response to client inquiries. Respond to client inquiries, initiate dialogue and validate scope as required in support of complex and major pursuit opportunities.(Shift: Day, as needed)Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Technical Sales Engineer include the following:Work closely with other Hynes technical people and Sales & Commercial group to determine the technical scope of work for client requestsReview, analyze and report on client’s technical data and help form technical opinions to achieve client expectationsDetermine tooling and manufacturing philosophy in agreement with other technical team members in support of complex and major pursuit opportunitiesWork with Hynes technical team to recommend manufacturing processesWork with the Estimating Engineer to support complex and major pursuit opportunities in conjunction with Sales and Commercial teamProvide cost estimates for all associated tooling and equipmentCommunicates with internal and external customers andSupport Hynes’ Sales and Commercial team as required when engaging with clientsSupport on-boarding of new tooling, manufacturing process as requiredEngages in other activities in support of Engineering as requiredEducation and/or Experience: 2yr Associate or 4yr Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.Experience in manufacturing environment (+10yrs)Equivalent experience in roll forming preferredPrint reading and interpretationUnderstanding of dimensioning and tolerancesProven experience in automated equipment and processesproven 3D/2D CAD skills (Inventor preferred)demonstrated knowledge of PLCs and controlsSkills:Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings/prints requiredDesign and detail experience in tooling and equipment – 3D modeling a mustAutoCAD and InventorMicrosoft Office, MS ProjectExtensive experience working with Excel is essential
