Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate required.
• 2+ years of experience in trust and estate administration including filings of Form 706 and Form 709.
• Knowledge of Federal Estate Tax law and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, organization and time management.
• Excellent proofreading, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team, maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Federal Estate Tax Returns (Form 706) and Gift Tax Returns (Form 709).
• Coordinate with accountants and attorneys for tax return information.
• Prepare Forms SS-4 and obtain taxpayer IDs for estates and trusts.
• Prepare trust reports, notices and Crummey notices.
• Gather asset information and valuations; retitle and process assets.
• Help administer decedent's trusts and estates; manage deadlines and hearings.
• Prepare deeds to transfer title to trusts/LLCs and coordinate distributions to beneficiaries.
• Prepare probate court documents and draft pleadings; maintain fiduciary accounts.
