Job summary

Orion Placement in Cedar Rapids, IA, seeks an Iowa-licensed attorney to join our established estate planning team. This in-office role focuses on meeting clients, drafting wills and trusts, and guiding families through probate and asset protection.

You will build your own client base, develop thoughtful strategies, and grow toward revenue sharing as your practice expands. The firm emphasizes compassionate service, long‑term relationships, and a meaningful, client‑centered legacy.

Qualifications

• Active Iowa law license.
• 2+ years of directly relevant trusts and estates or estate planning experience.
• Experience with wills, trusts, probate, trust administration, estate planning, or closely related matters.
• Strong client communication, counseling, and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable meeting prospective clients in person and taking ownership of client matters.
• Real estate and/or elder law experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Meet with prospective and existing clients to understand their goals, concerns, assets, and family circumstances.
• Develop and implement thoughtful estate planning strategies tailored to each client's needs.
• Prepare and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills, and other estate planning documents.
• Advise clients on probate, trust administration, asset protection, incapacity planning, and related estate matters.
• Build trusted, long-term relationships with clients and become a valued advisor to the families you serve.
• Help educate prospective clients and guide them confidently through the estate planning process.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to deliver an organized, high-quality client experience.
• Develop your own client base and grow your practice through strong relationships, referrals, and business development
