Pearson Bollman Law in West Des Moines, IA is seeking an experienced Estate Planning and Elder Law Attorney to join our collaborative team. You will design customized estate plans, advise on Medicaid planning, and represent clients in probate and estate administration matters.

Ideal candidates have a J.D. from an accredited law school, active Iowa bar membership, 3+ years of relevant practice, and a strong client-service orientation with excellent communication skills.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Estate Planning and Elder Law Attorney to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful communicator, skilled in building strong client relationships, and passionate about helping individuals plan for their future and protect their loved ones.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design customized estate plans that align with each client’s unique goals, family dynamics, and financial situation, including the preparation of wills, trusts, and other essential planning documents.


• Advise clients on Medicaid planning, long-term care, and asset protection strategies


• Represent clients in probate and estate administration matters


• Stay up to date on changes in elder law and estate planning legislation


• Participate in client education and community outreach events


• Collaborate with paralegals and administrative staff to ensure high-quality client service

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in Iowa


• 3+ years of experience in estate planning and elder law preferred


• Strong knowledge of probate, Medicaid, and trust administration


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Strong willingness to network with other professionals


• Empathy, patience, and professionalism in dealing with clients and team members


• Ability to manage multiple client matters with attention to detail and deadlines


• Proficiency with technology


• Ability to follow proven firm procedures and policies


• Experience with Real Estate and Corporate Law preferred
