Job summary

Denizen is seeking an Electronic Systems Technician I/II to implement, configure, and maintain advanced audiovisual and smart technology solutions. The role emphasizes leadership on projects, meticulous cable management, and delivering high-quality integrations for residential and commercial spaces.

You will lead small teams, install and program AV equipment, and collaborate with project managers to ensure seamless systems commissioning and client training.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Experience with audiovisual and smart technology integration is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead small teams of two or more and coordinate communication across crews.
  • Manage cable routing, termination, labeling, and testing for AV, data, and control gear.
  • Handle low-voltage wiring tasks including running and termination.
  • Install displays, mounts, speakers, cameras using in-wall, ceiling, or structure mounts.
  • Configure and program automation, security, and network systems.
  • Support commissioning, conduct testing, and train clients during handover.
  • Diagnose complex AV, data, and security system issues and resolve them.
  • Show initiative, problem-solve, and optimize use of tools and equipment.

Overview

The Electronic Systems Technician I I is responsible for implementing, configuring, and maintaining advanced audiovisual and smart technology solutions. This role requires exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage complex projects. The role involves leading technical aspects of projects, managing smaller initiatives, and serving as a key liaison between project sites and Project Managers. The EST II should possess expertise in cutting-edge residential and commercial technology integration, focusing on delivering high-quality, seamless solutions.

Core Job Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate effective leadership skills by managing teams of two or more, employing strong communication, collaboration, and delegation to optimize crew productivity.
  • Execute precise cable management for audio, video, data, security, and control equipment, including pulling, terminating, labeling, and testing.
  • Expertly handle low voltage wiring tasks, including running, fishing, and termination.
  • Proficiently install displays, mounts, speakers, cameras, and equipment using various methods such as in-wall, structure-mounted, and ceiling-mounted techniques, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Exhibit advanced proficiency in the configuration and programming of automation/control systems, security systems, and network infrastructure.
  • Provide valuable assistance in the comprehensive system commissioning process, encompassing rigorous testing, and conducting training walk-through sessions with clients.
  • Execute sophisticated diagnostic analysis and resolution for complex issues across audiovisual systems, data network infrastructure, security platforms, and integrated control equipment.
  • Demonstrate exceptional self-reliance and proactive problem-solving skills, utilizing available resources efficiently while applying critical thinking to develop innovative solutions, maximizing the potential of provided tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrate advanced problem-solving skills, applying analytical troubleshooting methods and developing innovative solutions to overcome complex technical challenges encountered during project implementation.
  • Exhibit strong customer service skills and maintain collaborative relationships within the team.
  • Excel in multitasking while consistently delivering high-quality work with professional integrity.
  • Prioritize project objectives effectively, balancing short-term and long-term goals.
  • Ensure the upkeep of fleet vehicles, stock inventory, and adhere to scheduled maintenance tasks as required.
  • Actively engage in the on-call service rotation on an as-needed basis.
Required Qualifications
  • Education – High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Accurately interpret technical schematics, drawings, and blueprints for precise implementation.
Physical Requirements
  • Operate a motor vehicle
  • Operate construction tools including ladders, hand drills, reciprocating saws, hammer, tack hammer, various hand saws, as well as various Audio/Visual hand tools including wire strippers, cutters, low voltage meter in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA regulation
  • Stand or walk 70% and sit 30% of the time
  • Lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Successfully perform in a workplace environment which could see extremes in temperatures
