Job summary

The University System of New Hampshire is seeking an Esports Assistant Coach to support the Head Esports Coach in developing a competitive program. The role includes coaching practices, player development, recruiting, team operations, and student-athlete support, with a focus on a positive, inclusive, and educational environment.

This position may be performed on campus, remotely, or hybrid, depending on needs and schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience playing or coaching competitive esports.
• Strong knowledge of at least one competitive esports title.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to coach college-aged student-athletes in person and virtually.
• Ability to work remotely and manage responsibilities independently.
• Reliable access to technology and internet connectivity.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by competition schedules.
• Commitment to academic success, sportsmanship, inclusion, and student-athlete development.

Responsibilities

• Coaching & Player Development: plan and conduct practices, provide instruction, conduct virtual practices and reviews, develop training plans, and establish team standards.
• Competition & Team Operations: assist with competition prep, participate in recruiting, conduct communications, build relationships, promote program visibility.
• Student-Athlete Support: foster positive culture, monitor engagement, mentor student-athletes, address concerns with coaching staff, balance academics.
• Administrative & Other Duties: maintain records, assist with social media, attend meetings, communicate with staff, stay current on esports developments.
