Job summary

Keene State College is seeking an Esports Assistant Coach to support the Head Esports Coach in developing a competitive program and mentoring student-athletes. The role may be performed on campus, remotely, or in hybrid arrangements, with responsibilities including practices, recruitment, and promotional activities.

You will assist with practices, game strategy, player development, and team operations while promoting a positive, inclusive educational environment.

Qualifications

• Experience playing or coaching competitive esports.
• Strong knowledge of at least one competitive esports title.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively coach, mentor, and communicate with college-aged student-athletes in both in-person and virtual environments.
• Ability to independently manage responsibilities while working remotely.
• Reliable access to appropriate technology and internet connectivity when working remotely.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays as required by competition schedules.
• Commitment to academic success, sportsmanship, inclusion, and student-athlete development.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach with planning and conducting practices and competitions.
• Provide instruction on gameplay, strategy, communication, and teamwork.
• Participate in virtual practices, meetings, and game review.
• Review gameplay to identify improvements.
• Develop individual and team training plans.
• Maintain team standards for preparation, conduct, communication, and sportsmanship.
• Support recruiting and campus visits and virtual recruiting.
• Engage with student-athletes to balance academics and esports.
• Maintain team records, statistics, schedules, and scouting reports.
• Assist with social media and community engagement.
• Attend required staff meetings and maintain communication.
