Job summary

Keene State College is seeking an Esports Assistant Coach to support the Head Esports Coach in administration, development, and competitive success of the program. You will assist with practices, recruitment, team operations, and student-athlete support, in a positive and inclusive environment.

The role may be on campus, remote, or hybrid, with duties including coaching, competitive preparation, recruiting activities, and mentoring student-athletes across multiple titles.

Qualifications

• Experience playing or coaching competitive esports.
• Strong knowledge of at least one competitive esports title.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively coach, mentor, and communicate with college-aged student-athletes in both in-person and virtual environments.
• Ability to independently manage responsibilities while working remotely.

Responsibilities

• Coaching & Player Development: assist with planning and conducting practices, training, and competitions; provide instruction and feedback on gameplay, strategy, teamwork, and performance; participate in virtual practices, team meetings, and reviews; develop individual and team training plans; uphold team standards.
• Competition & Team Operations: assist with preparation for regular-season and postseason competitions; participate in recruiting activities and virtual communications; build relationships with high school and club programs; promote program visibility.
• Student-Athlete Support: foster a positive team culture emphasizing academics, development, and sportsmanship; monitor engagement and attendance; mentor student-athletes in-person and virtually; report concerns to Head Coach.
• Administrative & Other Duties: maintain records, statistics, schedules, scouting reports; assist with social media, events, and meetings; stay updated on esports developments.
