Responsibilities

• Models the correct use of English language, oral and written.
• Delivers ESOL instruction and adapts lessons for individual learning plans.
• Administers ESOL assessments to determine student levels and learning plans.
• Collaborates with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents or guardians, and community resources.
• Communicates progress to parents/guardians and responds to inquiries.
• Manages student behavior to provide a safe learning environment.
• Directs classroom assistants, student teachers, and volunteers to support instruction.
• Reports suspected child or substance abuse to site administrator as required.
• Responds to inquiries from various sources to resolve issues and provide guidance.
• Responds to emergencies to ensure student safety.
