Job summary

Heritage Middle School in Florida is seeking a Paraprofessional IV ESOL to assist the professional instructional staff with supervision and educational support services. The role requires 7.5 hours per day over 10 months, reporting to the School Principal/Administrator.

Under teacher supervision, you will perform small-group instruction, document progress, assist with instructional tasks, and help with behavior management to foster a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Holds a HS diploma or GED or equivalent and one of the following: Associate’s degree; or 48 hours; or Para Pro Assessment
• Successful completion of STAR training within 1 year of hire
• Demonstrates ability to understand child development concepts
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Work with students in small groups as directed by the teacher
• Provide supervision of students after STAR training under teacher direction
• Assist in delivering instructions as requested
• Assist in documenting program progress using computer software
• Assess student performance requiring objective evaluation
• Assist in managing student behavior to maintain a conducive learning environment
• Provide one-on-one tutoring for eligible students
• Support in campus supervision during activities and field trips
• Perform tasks under supervision with a focus on safety and confidentiality
