Job summary

Heritage MS in Florida is seeking an Exceptional Student Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities under teacher supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living tasks, implementing IEP plans, and ensuring safety and positive conduct during classroom and campus activities.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with eligible multiple pathways, STAR training within a year, and strong communication with students, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus one of: an associate degree; 48 college hours; or Para Pro Assessment passing score.
• Successful completion of the STAR substitute training within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Implement services for students with disabilities per policies and procedures.
• Assist other paraprofessionals in performance responsibilities.
• Provide general medication administration after training where required.
• Assist students with daily living activities and safety as directed.
• Support teachers in behavioral and/or physical care plans.
• Assist in grooming, toileting, and hygiene activities as assigned.
• Provide one-to-one tutoring for eligible students.
• Act as translator when necessary.
• Assist with monitoring attendance and documentation.
• Operate computer software to document and report on the program.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
