Job summary

Brooklyn Bureau of Community Service, Inc. is seeking a part-time ESOL Instructor to teach an English course integrated with job training in hospitality for the restaurant and hotel industries.

Classes meet Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings, totaling 10 contact hours per week, with 5 hours for lesson preparation and 1 hour for weekly staff meetings. The instructor will focus on measurable skill gains, testing, and retention in an engaging setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of TESOL methods and techniques; experience working with multicultural adult learners.
• At least one year of teaching experience, preferably in a community setting.
• Language skills in Spanish, Arabic, and/or Chinese are preferred.
• Availability to teach Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings.
• Certificate or higher in TESOL

Responsibilities

• Design and facilitate ESOL classes for students in an integrated ESOL and job training course.
