Job summary

Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of New York is seeking an ESOL-Workforce Development Instructor to develop and deliver healthcare-focused ESOL for newly arrived immigrants and refugees. The role supports learners toward eligibility for Home Health Aide training and competency evaluation.

The instructor will design contextualized curricula, provide ongoing student support, and work with campus staff to ensure materials align with HHA training standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or ESOL or related field; Masters preferred.
• Experience working with multi-level adult ESOL learners in various contexts.
• Experience and facility with digital instruction including digital skills and remote/hybrid platforms.
• Experience with BEST Plus 3.0 preferred.
• Experience with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver nine-week contextualized healthcare ESOL courses.
• Create curricula focused on healthcare content and communicative competence for caregivers.
• Hold weekly office hours; track student data and progress.
• Coordinate with staff to align ESOL materials with HHA training content.
• Substitute as an instructor and provide general administrative support.
