Job summary

City Colleges of Chicago is seeking a part-time tutor for the English as a Second Language (ESL) program. The tutor will provide academic support to students, crafting effective tutoring plans to enhance their skills and confidence.

The position requires a Bachelor's Degree and preferences for tutoring experience and completion of tutoring certification. Tutors will work closely with students in a diverse community college environment.

The salary ranges between $17.48 and $24.59 per hour, with benefits available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a relevant field.
• Completion of tutoring certification preferred.
• Experience in teaching or tutoring at the postsecondary level is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic assistance and tutoring to students.
• Craft effective tutoring plans to address tutee's weaknesses.
• Participate in tutor orientation and attend professional development.

Skills

Teaching or tutoring experience

Familiarity with diverse cultural backgrounds

Microsoft Office skills

Education
